Michelle Ocker Faulkner (formerly Dorotha Michelle Ocker) is a professional neutral. She works as a mediator, arbitrator, special commissioner, and court-appointed ad litem.
Michelle grew up in South Texas on her family farm. She is a proud Texas Aggie, and a graduate of Stanford Law School. She started her career in the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. before working her way back to Texas, her home.
After more than 15 years litigating civil cases in federal and state courts as an advocate, Michelle now focuses her energy on resolving cases as a mediator and arbitrator.
Her mediations include personal injury, contract disputes, and employment law. Arbitrations include being a Property Assessment Arbitrator with the Texas Comptrollers Office as well as sitting as a Special Commissioner for Dallas County judges.
When not working, Michelle enjoys golfing and pickleball.... when the Texas heat allows.
Michelle mediates cases to the end. She won't stop until there is a deal, even if it means working up until the minute before the jury comes back from deliberating. If you need to get your case settled from someone with skill and tenacity, book today.
Michelle does not "split the difference." She looks over the evidence presented by each side, actively asks questions, and comes to a determination based on the evidence presented. Each side to an arbitration leaves feeling heard and knowing that Michelle understood the arguments and carefully weighed everything presented.
Michelle is routinely appointed as an advisor to the court for personal injury settlements of minors. She has forms that provide for a quick prove-up, and she can help determine if an annuity or special needs trust is in the best interest of the minor. Michelle can help with all civil litigation guardian ad litem needs.
